We have several books on our “fertility journey bookshelf” and have officially closed another one. We had nine perfect, genetically normal embryos and not one of those embryos resulted in a live birth. based on this and after lots of thinking/praying, we have decided not to do another egg retrieval.
Egg retrievals are VERY hard on a woman’s body. It’s a lot of hormones, a lot of injections, a lot of doctor’s appointments, a lot of being poked and prodded, a lot of tears, a lot of swelling….you get it. meanwhile, the fellas have zero meds pumped in to their bodies and just have to look at a cute magazine and….well, you know what happens next. On top of physical aspects, the financial and emotional aspect for both of us is even greater.
although it has been a hard pill to swallow that we will not likely have biological children, we really are at peace with that decision, as well as the decision for what’s next for us……
We are excited to share that we are opening a new book titled, “WE ARE ADOPTING!”
Embryo adoption is our next journey and we are working with both our local clinic, as well as an agency, to find what we feel are the perfect embryos to help us complete our family. We have been quite picky in our search but this is the child(ren) we will have for the rest of our lives. We would love to find a family who has similar physical traits, personalities, beliefs, etc. as us.
We are so grateful for all of the thoughts/prayers we’ve received over the last 7 years. Stick with us as we continue our journey. We truly believe God already has our babies handpicked for us and we are working overtime to reach them.
